Our family and farm:
Our family of 6 live on a 50 acre farm with other farm ground not attached to the home farm. All OES parents are beloved pets, not caged animals. They are raised in the home, not in Kennels. It is our personal philosophy that this type of life is best for the OES breed. They thrive off of human love, and interaction!
We started our breeding program about 5 years ago, and we have puppies living in 37 states across the USA currently (or soon to be going to those states to puppy homes). We have 8 different delivery, and pick up options to get the puppies home to their new family safely, and quickly. After they are ready to depart for their new family.
Our Mentor Breeders taught us that once you place a puppy in a home, you are a support to them for the rest of that dogs life, if they ever need you. So we go by that philosophy. We maintain Littermate Text groups for each litter. This gives puppy homes a built in support system, a place to ask questions on behaviors, grooming, health ect. It is also a great way for families to be able to share updates, and keep up with the littermates too.
Building long lasting close relationships with our puppy families is our favorite part of breeding, and very important to us.
Our 4 Children own part of the business, they each bought their dogs using profits from their 4H, and FFA livestock projects. This allows them to save for college, and have the funds to donate, or help train therapy, and service dogs. For those in great need of them, ect..
On our farm puppies are exposed to Cats, other Dogs, Sheep, Goats, Various types of big birds, young calf's, rabbits, and various wild life. They are exposed to being in a barn and farm buildings, seeing the creek that runs through the property, the farm fields, and the woods.

Littermate Text Groups
In order to best get info out to our littermate groups, and for them to have a support group to ask any questions of both us, and their littermates after they are home. We start the littermate text groups about a week prior to birth of the litter. Then each week we send out a document in the text groups that contains all of the information that you would wan to know and we know that you need to know about an OES subject. This allows you to learn everything you could possibly need to learn prior to your puppy coming home. Examples of weekly topics:
-The 13 most important training video's that we feel really prepare you to know exactly how to train your puppy in their first few months home. These will allow you to continue on with the training that we have started here, and helps you create the most well behaved puppy, and one who is very smart, confident, and so well trained.
-All of the important information on what to feed your puppy once they get home and for the 1st two years. Plus suggestions for products to have on hand before they arrive home.
-All of the important information on grooming your OES now and years into the future
-Detailed training on all known OES health issues and inherited diseases some OES have or carry
-12 page go home puppy packet to really get you ready to welcome and be the very best puppy home that you can be.
ect....
Our OES Pack
We have seven OES currently in our program
They are showcased in a few places on the web site for you to learn about them.
New OES Coming Soon -
-New male stud arriving late spring of 2024
-New female arriving early summer of 2024
-Female from a litter of ours in 2024
Our OES all came from great breeders who believe in all the things we do, with running their program. They arrived to us from all across the country - Virginia to Oregon, and Ohio to Florida.
Service and Therapy Dog donations:
Each litter we either donate 1-2 puppies, or the funds of a puppy to a program who are training service, and therapy dogs to those in need of them
Our Therapy Dogs:
It is a mission and goal of our program for each of our parents to go through the training, and then the testing to become Certified Therapy dogs. We take our litters, and our big dogs, into nursing homes, schools, hospitals, and churches. In order to provide loving dog therapy, to the residents, and students of those facilities.
Health Testing:
We believe that no dog should be bred, until they have passed all health testing for their breed. As specified by the national OFA Foundation.
For OES these required tests are:
DNA / Genetics
Hips
Eyes
Thyroids
Recommended tests:
Hearts
Hearing
also vet evaluated and passed.
OFA recently eliminated the requirement for knees, and elbows, to be tested on OES as only 1% of tested OES have had any issues with knees and elbows in the last 15 to 20 years. So we do not test for this either.
All Parents are only kept in the program after passing the required, and recommended health testing, and proving to have a very solid, loving, kind, obedient, compassionate, people pleasing, and people centered personality, and temperament
Temperament and Personality testing:
All puppies go through temperament and personality testing at 7 weeks old. After testing is complete we write up evaluations, and provide them to the puppy litter families. Then puppy picking happens after that testing is complete. Our puppy families pick their own puppies, we just want them to have as much information as possible about the pups, before choosing their new long term family member.
Puppy raising protocols:
We use two puppy raising protocols to raise the litters using daily training including
ENS - {early neurological training},
ESI - {early scent introduction}, and daily
{exposure and socialization training}.
They participate in these training protocols from 3 days old, until the day they go home. This helps us to make sure all of the puppies that we create are well prepared for life in their new home. These training protocols help create the most well behaved, well balanced, healthy, and happy Old English Sheepdog puppies.
If at anytime a puppy needs to be re homed:
They will come back to us, so that we can evaluate health, and temperament. Then find them the perfect new puppy / dog home. Up to this point we have only needed to do that two times, both times being due to family issues or family changes. We will always take responsibility for any puppy we create. We will always make sure they have the perfect home for them, if their 1st home would not end up being their FUREVER home.
How can you know what people think about their pups and working with us:
We have puppy homes from every past litter, that are happy to talk to any perspective new puppy homes. They are happy to share about their experience getting their puppy, and how it has gone since then.
OES Tails Docking options:
We believe that puppy families should be able to choose if they want their OES to be docked tail, or fully tailed. Our puppy picking process allows for everyone who has reserved prior to birth to get the tail choice they desire. We then try to keep some pups with tails, and some docked tails. So people joining the litter after 3 days old to be able to eventually pick from, if enough pups are born to do this.
We stand behind our puppies, and guarantee their health for up to two years. Our puppies come with a two year health guarantee for all congenital health issues. A second puppy will be provided, if a serious health issue is found, and diagnosed by a Veterinarian. All terms of this guarantee are addressed in our Puppy home Contract. We also provide a lifetime of support to our puppy owners, including advice on training, nutrition, grooming, socialization, health, behaviors, and any other questions you may have.
Reservations and Payments:
Our breeding program is carefully designed to produce healthy, happy puppies that meet the breed standard. We use only the best breeding dogs from all over the country, and follow strict guidelines to ensure the health, and well-being of our dogs, and puppies.
Our puppies can be reserved pre birth.
We take up to 7 reservations pre birth per litter, and an 8th reservation sometimes would be allowed. As long as a family in 8th pick spot understand that if not enough puppies would happen to be born. Then the last reservations move to next litter of choice. The rest of the reservations we fill after birth, once we know how many puppies are born, and survive.
Our pre birth reservations are usually all filled up by a month or so prior to birth.
We take reservations up to 15 months in advance.
The reservation fee can be paid in full, or 1/2 at reservation,
and 1/2 the day after birth for pre birth reservations.
Post birth reservations must be received in full on reservation.
Some families choose to pay for their dog in the reservation, and final payment installments only.
Some choose to send smaller, more frequent payments, up to 15 months in advance to best budget for their own needs.
We try to allow for many ways to pay for your puppy, but we do not offer financing. That is because we do not want anyone to go into debt to get a puppy from us.
Reservation fees are part of the final payment not in addition to it.
We try to pass savings back to our puppy families whenever we can. Our own OES were much more expensive, than the puppies we sell, but we want to pass the savings back to our FUREVER puppy families.
There is so much that goes into every single puppy that we raise, and costs to run a responsible, ethical breeding program are very high. So we have to price our pups accordingly. Our prices reflect the sheer amount of the crazy hours that go into raising a litter, all of the costs for Vet, food, birth supplies, nursery supplies, training supplies, feeding and supplementing supplies for puppies and momma ect.
Contracts:
All dogs are sold on Spay / neuter contracts. Unless we have approved you for a breeding dog.
We are very picky about how many breeders go out, and a Breeding contract is required. There is a $5,500 fee charged (per signed contract) if any planned, or accidental litters are produced by one of our puppies without breeding rights being granted and approved by us. This is to insure that no litters are created stemming from our program without coming from parents who are appropriate to become breeder dogs and have passed all of their health testing 1st. It is also to assure that no litters are created stemming from our program who are not going out to homes as good as the ones we choose for our own puppies to go to.
Full breeding rights, if we have approved you to receive a breeding dog from us, are only turned over to you, after all health testing has been completed and passed. This way we know that the dogs coming from our program, who produce puppies, are only producing responsibly, and that they are producing healthiest puppies that they can.
If we discuss and agree to enter a breeding rights contract with you, our Breeding Rights fee includes continued mentoring on your program from us. If you should so desire that.
Our puppies go home with:
-A 2 year Health Guarantee
-A State Veterinarian Certificate of Health
-Training Protocols used from day 3, to go home day
-Dewormed every 2 weeks birth to go homes

Guardian Home Availability:
We are often looking for Guardian homes for new adult breeders. Guardian home's must live within 3 hours of us. One and a half hours is even better. This so that they never have to drive more than 45 minutes to meet up to trade dogs with us, pick up their dog from farm visits ect.
Guardian home dogs will live more with us than Guardian home for the 1st few months.
This is so that we can start basic training, potty training, and crate training, and get them a great start to socialization.
During that time they will visit their Guardian home often.
After that time they will live more with the guardian home, and visit us every 6 weeks at least.
They will stay with us during heat cycles, and live with us from 2 weeks prior to due date for litter, until their pups have gone home.
This is usually about 10 weeks for each litter.
Guardian homes are welcome to come, and spend time with their breeder dog, as they wish, with notice given. During the times that their dog is with us for an extended stay.
We have only had extremely good relationships with our current guardian homes, and we desire to find new guardian homes with people who desire that close relationship as well.
Guardian homes must be kind, caring, loving, very good at communicating, and very willing to continue new training, and refresher training with their dogs.
This will be done most often daily or weekly.
Guardian homes receive:
-A fully health tested, fully trained OES. Who is either already a therapy dog, or about to be.
-Their Guardian dog becomes fully theirs, 6 months after they have had their last litter, or have been spayed or neutered. The decision on when the dog will be spayed, and or neutered will be made solely by the breeder/owner, and the Veterinarian.
-They receive a generous bonus each littler that their Guardian dog produces.
-The bonus ends up being close to $100 for each week that their dog is gone from their home, and staying in our home for puppy litters. This is usually around 10 weeks for girls, and 1-2 weeks each heat cycle for males.
-We pay for all yearly Wellness and Vaccines, and Reproductive Veterinary care while in our program.
-We pay for all training classes up to Canine Good Citizen
- We provide Free Boarding of their Guardian dogs while away on trips, or vacations, or during a hospital stay.
-Over the course of a Guardian Home Breeder dogs career, the Guardian home ends up receiving about $8,000 between their dog, vet care, and litter bonuses.
The costs that the Guardian home is responsible for:
-Feeding Supplies
-Grooming
-Monthly Flea, and Tick treatment
-AKC pet insurance.
Any Vet care for accidents, or illness that does not end up being covered by Insurance.
